I require Approved Arrangements Accreditation, do I need to enrol into the Biosecurity Awareness program first?

No, DO NOT ENROL in Biosecurity Awareness if you are also enrolling in Approved Arrangements for Accredited Persons (Classes 1 to 8) as that program includes the Biosecurity Awareness unit.

The Biosecurity Awareness online course provides formal Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry accreditation for specialised biosecurity roles only.

I’m already a Quarantine Approved Accredited Person; do I need to complete a reaccreditation course?

If you are accredited under the Approved Arrangement Accreditation for AA Accredited Persons (Classes 1-8) course with a certificate dated February 2015 or later:

  • Your accreditation is still valid
  • You are also automatically accredited for classes 10, 11 and 12
  • You are required to renew only when advised by the Department.

Existing Quarantine Approved Premises Classes 1 to 8 for Accredited Persons accreditations remain valid for two years.

If you are accredited under the Approved Arrangement Accreditation for AA Accredited Persons (Classes 1-8) course with a certificate dated February 2015 or later:

  • Your accreditation is still valid
  • You are also automatically accredited for classes 10, 11 and 12

Payment and Registration Questions

How do I enrol?

To enrol online you must either already by registered, or you will be registered as part of the enrolment process. Registration is the first step in the enrolment process; it involves giving us your details and receiving a username and password.

Next select the Course option from the menu. From the Guardian Courses page select the course you wish to purchase, and then click on the ‘Buy Now’ button. You will then be asked to enter your existing registration details (username and password), or to create a new registration.

Once this is complete, you can pay for your course online via your credit card, or select to print out an invoice to pay offline.

After your payment has been processed you will receive your enrolment notice and access instructions via email.

Which courses can I purchase online?

Approved Arrangements for Accredited Persons (Classes 1 to 8)

The Approved Arrangements for Accredited Persons (Classes 1 to 8) replaces the Quarantine Approved Premises Classes 1 to 8 Accreditation and Re-accreditation training. Quarantine Approved Premises (QAPs) and Compliance Agreements (CAs) will automatically convert to Approved Arrangements (AAs) from 16 June 2016 when the Biosecurity Act 2015 came into effect replacing the Quarantine Act 1908.

Existing Quarantine Approved Premises Classes 1 to 8 for Accredited Persons accreditations will remain valid for two years.

Biosecurity Awareness

This Biosecurity Awareness course has been developed to help the widest possible group of people in the imported cargo logistics industry to understand biosecurity issues and how their knowledge of such issues can reduce biosecurity risks to Australia.

PLEASE NOTE: This online course does NOT provide formal Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry accreditation.

DO NOT enrol in this program if you are also enrolling in Approved Arrangements for Accredited Persons (Classes 1 to 8) as that program includes a Biosecurity Awareness unit.

Can I enrol multiple users and make a single online Credit Card payment?

It is possible to register multiple users, generating an invoice for each and sending a single payment with the invoices.

Unfortunately, a single consolidated online payment cannot be made for multiple individuals. This is partly why a discount is provided for online payments.

If you have multiple enrolments to make please refer to the ‘Can I make bulk enrolments?’ question below.

I have multiple staff needing to be registered. Can I make bulk enrolments?

To make multiple enrolments in the Approved Arrangement Accreditation or non-accreditation programs, follow the instructions below:

  1. Download the bulk enrolment spreadsheet for the required program
  2. Complete the required fields (*)
  3. Purchase Order numbers must be supplied if required for invoicing
  4. Email the completed spreadsheet to accounts@aitgb.com.au

The accompanying email must include your company’s billing details. Purchase orders should be made out to:

I’ve registered, generated an invoice but still can’t access any training.

Where the invoice mode of payment is selected, program enrolments are completed when the payment is processed. An email will be sent to the registered user confirming this.

I’ve used an incorrect email address for registration.

Course/training Related Questions

Do I have to complete the training in one go?

No, you can come and go as many times, and whenever you like. However, assessments need to be completed in a single session.

How many units (subjects) have to be completed?

The Approved Arrangement Accreditation for AA Accredited Persons program comprises of two units (subjects).

After you complete the first unit, Biosecurity Awareness, you will have access to the second unit, Approved Arrangement Accreditation.

The Biosecurity Awareness program comprises of a single unit.

Can I share my username and password with other people?

No. The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry requires each person to be individually registered for all training programs.

On the successful completion of the Approved Arrangement Accreditation training program the Guardian system will issue the user’s ongoing Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry accreditation number. Other users will already have an accreditation number and these are unique to each individual.

What happens if I fail the assessment for my Guardian training program?
An administrator will receive a notification of your failure and will contact you by email or by phone.
How do I print my certificate?

To download or print your certificate please follow the instructions below.

Log on to Guardian using your username and password. You will be directed to the ‘My Courses’ page, if you are already logged on to Guardian you may need to navigate to this page.

A certificate may be awarded for completing an entire course, or for completing an individual subject.

After successfully completing your training, the certificate icon in the launch panel for the course or the subject will be active. Click on this link.

If a certificate awarded for a subject, the certificate icon will be displayed in the subject details panel available once you have selected the course (via the ‘Go to subjects’ button).

Your certificate pdf will open in a new browser window or tab. Your browser should display download or print icons above the certificate image, if they are not visible, click on or rollover the certificate to view the browser download or print icons. Select your preferred output method and follow the browser window/system prompts.

Other Questions

I’m having trouble receiving emails from the Guardian system.

 A spam filter may be blocking the email messages that Guardian sends to you.

You may need to add the Guardian system’s email domains (ifcbaa.com and aitgb.com.au) to your mail client (or your company’s mail server) white list in order to receive Guardian system generated email messages.
